1. “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.” – Psalm 4:8 (NIV) 

Meditation Practice: 

  • Find a comfortable position lying down. Breathe deeply and slowly, inhaling peace and exhaling worries. 
  • Slowly repeat Psalm 4:8, allowing the words to wash over you. 
  • Imagine yourself resting in a field bathed in moonlight. While meditating on this verse, picture the Lord’s loving presence surrounding you. Release your anxieties, knowing He watches over you. Feel safe and secure in His care. With each breath, feel a sense of peace settle over your body and mind. 
  • If worries or anxieties arise, gently acknowledge them and release them, placing them at the foot of the Cross. 

2. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28 (NIV)

Meditation Practice: 

  • Close your eyes and envision yourself standing before Jesus. The weight of the day can leave us feeling depleted. Jesus offers a tender invitation to those burdened by the weight of performance. Imagine yourself approaching Him, weary and heavy-laden.  
  • Slowly repeat Matthew 11:28, focusing on the promise of rest. 
  • Inhale deeply and imagine placing your burdens at Jesus’ feet. Exhale slowly, releasing any tension held within. 
  • Allow yourself to experience the peace and comfort that comes from surrendering your burdens to Him.

  • Shift your focus to gratitude. Reflect on the good things in your life, big or small, and express thanks to God. Thank Him for His presence. 
  • As you focus on gratitude, allow the peace of God to wash over you, calming your mind and preparing you for sleep. 

4. “When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.” – Proverbs 3:24 (NIV)

Meditation Practice: 

  • Lie down in a comfortable position and close your eyes. Breathe deeply and slowly, as your body begins to relax. 
  • Repeat Proverbs 3:24 several times, allowing the words to sink into your heart, experiencing freedom from fear, accepting the gift of sleep. 
  • Imagine yourself lying down in a peaceful place, enveloped in a sense of security, protected and free from fear. 
  • Release any anxieties that may still linger, trusting in God’s care for you. Allow yourself to relax completely. 

5. “He gives to his beloved sleep.” – Psalm 127:2 (NIV)

Meditation Practice:

  • Sit or lie down in a comfortable position, taking a few deep breaths to center yourself. 
  • Sleep is a gift from God, a time for our bodies and minds to rest and recharge. Silently reflect on the importance of sleep and how it allows you to function at your best. 
  • Express gratitude to God for the gift of sleep. 
  • As you prepare to drift off, allow yourself to experience complete relaxation, knowing you are cared for by God.
