Can you say with great confidence, “God is my help”? When facing troubles and pain, it’s important to turn to a source of strength. There’s no better source than God.

Isaiah 41:10 says,

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Isaiah 41:10, English Standard Version

Despite the challenges that may feel overwhelming, God’s power surpasses our limitations, holding us up with the same hands that crafted the universe.

In moments of difficulty, when comfort seems out of reach, God remains the ultimate source of resilience. Acknowledging our reliance on God’s strength can turn seemingly impossible situations into opportunities to lean on His unwavering support. Whether feeling helpless or burdened by life’s trials, recognizing God’s presence can provide solace and empowerment.

God’s words through Isaiah, encourage us to surrender our struggles and shortcomings to the Lord. This act of confession and submission allows us to invite God’s strength into areas we may have tried to navigate alone. Embracing moments of stillness and acknowledging God’s power within us can foster a deeper connection to His guidance and support.

Paul’s letter to the Philippians reinforces the idea that we can do what God has for us to do through God’s strength. Despite writing from the confines of a Roman prison, Paul wrote with unwavering faith in God’s ability to help him overcome adversity. Paul’s circumstances and the hope he conveys remind us of the enduring presence of God in our lives, even in the darkest moments.

In times of trial, remember that you are never alone in your struggles. By repeating to yourself, “God in my strength,” you can navigate challenges with courage and perseverance. Together, with faith as your anchor, you can find solace in the knowledge that God’s strength is ever-present. It guides you through every step of your journey.

God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, God of all Creation, You are with me as You were with so many others before me. You help by giving us wisdom and discernment, you help by giving us truth-speaking people in our lives. You give us grace so that our past does not lock down our feet, and we can take a step forward in hope. Help me today, Lord God. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
