Do you have something you’re having a hard time trusting God about? In John 21:5-6 Jesus performs a miracle that inspires us to trust him. Reflect on this morning prayer about trust based on John 21:5-6 in the New International Version of the Bible:
“He called out to them, ‘Friends, haven’t you any fish?’ ‘No,’ they answered. He said, ‘Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find.’ When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of.”
Dear Lord,
As we start this day, we come to you in prayer, trusting that you have a plan for us. Just like the disciples in John 21, we may feel like we’ve been fishing all night without catching any fish. But we know that when we follow your guidance and direction, we will experience abundance beyond our imagination.
Help us to trust in your wisdom and guidance, even when we don’t understand what you’re calling us to do. We may feel like we’re casting our nets in the wrong direction, but we know that you can provide the miracle catch we need.
Help us to have faith in your promises, even when our circumstances seem bleak. We know that you are the God who provides, and you always have our best interests at heart.
We ask for your guidance and protection throughout this day, knowing that we can face any challenges with you by our side. May we always seek your will above our own, and trust in your perfect plan for our lives.
In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
