In a world that often feels vast and overwhelming, it’s easy to feel disconnected, not just from others but also from God. However, the essence of our relationship with our heavenly Father, as highlighted in the truth that God is near, is that no matter how distant He might seem, He is always within reach, surrounding us with His presence and love.

The vastness of the universe serves as a reminder of God’s immense power and omnipresence. From the farthest star to the most intimate moments of our lives, God encompasses all. This omnipresence is made even more poignant through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, which allows us to draw closer to God, ensuring that He is never far from us.

Psalm 68:19 encapsulates this beautifully, emphasizing God’s role as our Savior who carries us daily. It highlights the intimate and caring nature of His relationship with us:

“Praise the Lord; praise God our savior! For each day he carries us in his arms.”

Psalm 68:19

Jesus’ role as our Savior and Redeemer is central to understanding the nearness of God. Through Jesus, we are not only forgiven but are also loved deeply. He fills us with His Spirit envelops us in His love. This relationship invites us to draw near to God, confident in the knowledge that He will draw near to us in return.

God’s not just a passive observer. He’s an active participant in our lives. He offers salvation and support. This divine assistance is not about providing tools for self-help. It’s about offering direct intervention and support, lifting burdens from our shoulders and strengthening us where we are weakest.

Oh God who hears me even now, I am Yours and You are mine! Thank you for loving me with an everlasting love. When I am afraid, feel all alone or just removed from You, would You remind me of the truth of Your nearness? Would You let me feel Your presence? Remind me that I am Your child and that You hear me and love me, even when I don’t feel like it. Thank You that You tend to me like a shepherd and carry me close to Your heart. I love you. Amen.

Embrace God’s nearness. Actively seek His presence, assured that He is always by your side. He is ready to support, love, and carry you through every moment of your life.
