Lord God, in light of the indescribable experience, sacrifice, and cost your son paid on the cross for me…please do not let me cower from the cost of following Him. Lord, I intend and desire to follow Christ. Give me the courage to not run from suffering but embrace it as Christ did. Show me how today. Every day. As Christ did. I can’t do this alone. In my flesh and weakness I turn away from pain and try to medicate it myself. But I know your way is self sacrifice and surrender. Let me understand, embrace, and carry that every day. As Christ did. And it is in his name I pray, amen.
