The Bible is filled with stories of hope—new beginnings, forgiveness, and fresh starts. In John 9, Jesus and the disciples meet a blind man. The disciples are curious, asking Jesus, “Rabbi, who sinned—this man or his parents—that he was born blind?” Jesus replies, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.” And then, Jesus restored his sight – giving new life to one man, but giving hope to so many around him.
While Jesus’ time on earth was short, his works of God were abundant. Through the Holy Spirit, he continues to give us that same hope each and every day. Think about where you’ve seen God work in your own life. In 2 Corinthians 4:18, we’re reminded to…
“Fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
That’s hope. Hope that God’s plans for us are bigger than we can ever imagine. Hope that he knows what we’re going through, yet he’s right there with us.
